Girls Soccer Team with Coach

Kelso Tournament Select teams
COMING SOON!

Tournament Select Teams are a travel, competitive team composed of players who are listed on the team’s roster for Tournament play. Select level play differs from Recreational Soccer teams in that the teams have tryouts, coaches select the players to add to their team, and equal playing time is not required or guaranteed. Tournament Select teams are ideal for players looking for more competitive play, opportunities to compete in tournaments, opportunities to compete year rounds in different types of soccer (outdoor, tournaments, indoor, futsal, etc). As we work to develop this new program, Kelso Tournament Select teams do not complete in seasonal league play. Tournaments travel vary depending on the selected sanctioned tournamentsl.

Practices

Select Soccer teams typically practice 2-3 times a week for 1-2hours each practice. Practices will vary for each team and age group. Team typically practice in off season (winter and summer), but this is subject to each coaches guidance and decision. Many players play second sports in off season and can work with coaches about trainings in the off season.

Tournaments

Sanctioned Washington Tournaments can be found HERE. Teams are not restricted to competing in Washington State only. Teams may travel to any state to compete in tournaments (with proper paperwork completed through WYS).

Seasons of Play

Kelso Tournament Select Teams Registration for players includes payment for Winter indoor, year round tournaments, and field/facilities use fees. Teams compete year round in a variety of showcases and tournaments. The majority of tournaments are offered in the summer, however teams will compete in all seasons.

Uniforms and Costs

Kelso Soccer Club works to keep player and team costs affordable to provide more opportunities for our community. Uniform Kits are an estimated additional $175 including: 2 jerseys, shorts, 2 sets of socks (blue and gold). Warm-ups, bags, and additional gear may be purchased at additional costs.

Off Season Training

Due to the limited hours of daylight in the Fall season many teams have reduced practices in the Winter Season. Teams may train indoors, finding an indoor training location is currently each teams responsibility. Teams often year round but make accommodations for multi-sport athletes on a case by cases basis.

Fundraising

Select teams have the option of fundraising to help keep out of pocket costs lower. Raised team funds can be used to pay for tournaments, equipment, team events, bonding events, team travel costs, facilities rentals, player sponsorship  or scholarships, and more. Some fundraiser ideas include: carwashes, product sales (candy bars), and company sponsors.
