Become a Certified Referee
Based on the level of training provided, U.S. Soccer recommends that these officials be assigned accordingly to best service the game. (As of July 2019, it is required that you be at least 13 years old at the time of registration. The recommended minimum age is 14 at time of registration.) Certified referees can referee Recreation, Select, Premier, and high school games in our local area (these are paid roles). Cowlitz Youth Soccer Association offers in person Certified Referee Clinics. Online Referee clinics must be completed before the in person clinic.
Become a Micro-referee
As we work to develop the overall success of our local soccer programs, we are also working to develop our developing pool of referees. If your child is interested in becoming a referee, making some money, and learning more about the game of soccer then micro-refereeing is for them!
