KELSO SOCCER CLUB MEETING MINUTES: MARCH 16, 2010 Meeting called to order: 7:07 pm Minutes approved from the February 2010 meeting. Present: Morgan Aberle, Mauro Cruz Hernandez, Phil Dahl, Sarah Dahl, Reed Holsinger, Sean Kiffe, Jennifer Murray, Linda Schulz, Josh Thompson, Nicole Vazquez, Lorla Victoriano, Kristi Kellar, Steve Princehouse, Jamie Sargent, Sean Tenison, Ken Merrell, Todd Schierscher, Christy Rasmussen, Cherie Gaston, Jason Weitman PRESIDENT: Josh Thompson reports - the restructuring/consolidation process of the Cowlitz Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) is ongoing. VICE PRESIDENT: Morgan Aberle is continuing to look into fundraisers with sweatshirts and other articles. TREASURER: Sarah Dahl, Current bills to be paid: PUD - $11.23, Qwest - $43.28, PO Box renewal - $60, Grass seed & Fertilizer - $107.88, Insurance - $132. MSA to approve the treasurer’s report and pay the bills as presented. DIRECTOR OF COACHES: Position open. Still need coaches for GU-6, GU-7, BU-6, BU-8, BU-9, BU-15. Coaching information is readily available from the WA Youth Soccer Association at www.wsysa.com. Rules are available from Cowlitz Youth Soccer at www.cowlitzyouthsoccer.com (“welcome to CYSA; forms/rules”). REGISTRAR: Jennifer Murray and Linda Schulz report 292 players registered for the spring season (up from 277 from a year ago). DIRECTOR OF EQUIPMENT: Nicole Vazquez reports that all equipment is in the shed and ready for the season. DIRECTOR OF SPONSORS: Lorla Victoriano – sponsors are always needed; will begin this spring to actively pursue sponsorships for the fall season. DIRECTOR OF FIELDS: Phil Dahl – purchased a new mower and have mowed the Manasco fields twice so far this year. For the spring season - a U-11 field will be located at Manasco, U-12+ will be at Barnes Elementary. DIRECTOR OF REFEREES: Phil Dahl reports that a new referee certification clinic will be held March 18-21 (register at www.cowlitzyouthsoccer.com). Certified referees are needed due to a current shortage – get the word out to anyone interested! A youth referee clinic will be held on March 24 at 6pm at the Tam'O Shanter clubhouse for one hour (must be at least 7th grade to be a youth referee – paid $8 per game). COMMISSIONER’S REPORT: Phil Dahl reports that select tryouts will be held on May 1-2 for BU-11&12, BU-16+, GU-11&12; May 7-8 for BU-13 to BU-15, GU-13 and up.
