KELSO SOCCER CLUB MEETING MINUTES: FEBRUARY 16, 2010

Meeting called to order: 7:02 pm

Minutes approved from the January 2010 meeting.

Present: Morgan Aberle, Mauro Cruz Hernandez, Phil Dahl, Sarah Dahl, Sean Kiffe, Jennifer Murray, 
Josh Thompson,Nicole Vazquez, Lorla Victoriano

PRESIDENT: Josh Thompson reports that the restructuring/consolidation process of the Cowlitz
Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) is ongoing. Target is to have CYSA do the registration process 
for KSC for the fall season. Current
KSC board members would become members of the new Kelso Committee under CYSA.

VICE PRESIDENT: Morgan Aberle is continuing to look at sweatshirts as a fundraiser.

TREASURER: Sarah Dahl, current bills to be paid: PUD - $11.23, Qwest - $50.35, Wells 
Fargo - $33.00, Bonzi Fees -
$62.00. Total disbursements for January was $209.01. MSA to approve the treasurer’s 
report and pay the bills as
presented.
A 2010 budget was developed and proposed as part of the CYSA restructuring; $35,500 
total income with $34,200 total
expenses. MSA to approve the 2010 Budget.

DIRECTOR OF COACHES: Position open, no report

REGISTRAR: Jennifer Murray reports 131 players registered with another 30 signed up this 
evening; 26 coaches are
signed up so far for the spring season. Registration for spring soccer is open through 
February 28 and can be done online.

DIRECTOR OF EQUIPMENT: Nicole Vazquez reports that we have most equipment needed for the 
spring season.

DIRECTOR OF SPONSORS: Lorla Victoriano reports that we only have 1 sponsor so far for a 
spring team. More
sponsors are needed! Coaches will be contacted to help get the request out.

DIRECTOR OF FIELDS: Phil Dahl reports that the club is still looking for a mower replacement. 
Note: a mower was
purchased on February 19. Looking to roll the Manasco fields again this year. Also looking to 
re-gravel the parking lots
and paint parking stripes.

DIRECTOR OF REFEREES: Phil Dahl reports that a new referee certification clinic will be held 
March 18-21 (register
on the Longview club site). Certified referees are needed due to a current shortage – get the 
word out to anyone interested!

COMMISSIONER’S REPORT: Phil Dahl reports:
Select tryouts will be held in May - May 1-2 for BU-11, BU-12, BU-16+, GU-11, GU-12; May 8-9 
for BU-13, BU-14, BU-15 and GU-13 and up. Interested coaches must sign up by March 15 on the 
CYSA website.
Soccer Academies will be held at 7th Avenue Fields this summer (dates are June 28-July2, 
July 12-16, August 16-20). Coaching clinic open to all coaches on evening of August 20.

OLD BUSINESS: Discussed potential for Lexington field development on school property.

NEW BUSINESS: N/A
