KELSO SOCCER CLUB MEETING MINUTES:  APRIL 20, 2010

Meeting called to order: 7:07 pm

Minutes approved from the March 2010 meeting.

Present: Morgan Aberle, Phil Dahl, Sarah Dahl, Sean Kiffe, Jennifer Murray, Linda Schulz, 
Josh Thompson, Nicole Vazquez, Matt Swanson

PRESIDENT: Josh Thompson reports the restructuring/consolidation process of the Cowlitz Youth 
Soccer Association (CYSA) is in full swing and being supported by all the member clubs. MSA to 
approve Kelso Soccer Club's consolidation into the CYSA organization.

VICE PRESIDENT: Morgan Aberle looked into fundraisers with sweatshirts and other articles. 
Sweatshirts will cost $30; an email will be communicated through the coaches to begin taking 
orders. MSA to approve sweatshirts for board members.

TREASURER: Sarah Dahl, Current bills to be paid: PUD - $11.30, Lock - $28.00, Qwest - $43.46, 
Mower fuel & net bungies - $54.20, Youth Referees - $128.00, Certification Fees - $156.00, 15 
Size 3 Soccer Balls - $181.11, Certified Referees – $447.00, Spring Players' 
Insurance - $1255.28, Spring Uniforms - $2623.99. MSA to approve the treasurer’s report and 
pay the bills as presented.

DIRECTOR OF COACHES: Position open. One coach complaint received & discussed. Had difficulty 
finding coaches for a few teams this spring.

REGISTRAR: Jennifer Murray and Linda Schulz; working on getting medical release forms to the 
coaches. Some complaints fielded – mostly related to lack of coaches for a few teams.

DIRECTOR OF EQUIPMENT: Nicole Vazquez reports that all equipment will need to be returned after 
this season to get an accurate equipment count. Very poor responses so far by coaches to the 
email request for count of current equipment being used. The TamO equipment shed has a new 
lock – the combination will only be given to board members.

DIRECTOR OF SPONSORS: Lorla Victoriano – no report.

DIRECTOR OF FIELDS: Phil Dahl – Manasco fields are in good shape so far this season. MSA to 
authorize Phil Dahl to spend up to $350 for a sprayer/fertilizer attachment to the mower. 

DIRECTOR OF REFEREES: Youth referees have covered all games for the first two Saturdays. We are 
still in dire need of certified referees – able to cover center positions so far, but not 
AR positions currently.

COMMISSIONER’S REPORT: Select tryouts will be held on May 1-2 for BU-11&12, BU-16+, GU-11&12; 
May 7-8 for BU-13 to BU-15, GU-13 and up – register online at www.cowlitzyouthsoccer.com. The 
spring schedule was delayed because some teams did not have coaches identified until the week 
of the first games. A coaches E-clinic will be held either August 13-15, 20-22. Nicole Vazquez 
is the new VP of Operations for CYSA.
