KELSO SOCCER CLUB MEETING MINUTES: NOVEMBER 17, 2009 Meeting called to order: 7:04 pm Minutes approved from the October 2009 meeting. Present: Nicole Vazquez, Reed Holsinger, Loren Harper, Jody Cook, Sean Kiffe, Josh Thompson, Morgan Aberle, Lorla Victoriano, Jennifer Murray, Sarah Dahl PRESIDENT: Josh Thompson reports that the restructuring/consolidation process is ongoing. VICE PRESIDENT: Morgan Aberle; no report. SECRETARY: Position open TREASURER: Sarah Dahl – Bills: PUD - $11.23, Port-a-Potty - $80.56, Referees- $1,120, Qwest - $50.46. MSA to approve the treasurer’s report and pay the bills as presented. DIRECTOR OF COACHES: Position open REGISTRAR: Jennifer Murray reports that she will be taking over as Girl’s registrar, and Linda Shultz will serve as Boy’s registrar. Linda will continue to monitor the phone line. Still needed is someone to verify birth certificates, a separate volunteer would be so helpful to take care of that. Registration for spring soccer will open at the beginning of January and will close approximately March 5th. Open registration dates will be Jan. 19 and Feb. 16 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm (before the regular monthly meetings) and Jan. 23 and Feb. 20 from 10:00 – 2:00 at Coweeman while Kelso Youth Basketball is being played. Games start the Saturday after spring break – April 10th and the cost is $35 if you played in the fall 2009 season and $40 if you didn’t. DIRECTOR OF EQUIPMENT: Position open DIRECTOR OF SPONSORS: Lorla Victoriano will be doing the flyer for spring soccer for the schools. DIRECTOR OF FIELDS: Phil and Loren are researching the purchase of a new mower for Manasco. MSA to spend up to $3000 for a mower and service contract. Phil has also been working with Josh to look for permission from the Kelso School Board to develop soccer fields on a 10-acre school district property in Lexington. The plan will include a U11 field, a U12+ field, and plenty of room for practice. DIRECTOR OF REFEREES: Jody Cook reports that a referee recertification clinic will be held on Saturday November 21st at the Cowlitz PUD building. Information is available on the Longview Soccer Club website under referees. He says that most games had one referee for this fall season, and more referees are most definitely needed. COMMISSIONER’S REPORT: Sarah Dahl reports that the high school girls select tryouts are complete and teams are being formed for their spring season. Consolidation efforts are continuing. NEW BUSINESS: Josh has been recruiting for a new position: DIRECTOR OF FUNDRAISING. He has someone in mind and would like to pursue gathering sponsors for the club. Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
